WANA (May 16) – The head of Iran’s Government Information Center announced that tariffs on 87% of trade between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union have been eliminated.

Ali Ahmadnia wrote on his X account: “Based on the agreement reached, around 87% of the goods exchanged between Iran and the five member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan) will now be traded with zero tariffs.

Under the Free Trade Agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Union, which came into effect yesterday, bilateral trade with these five countries is expected to reach at least $10 billion.”
